The BRICS Solutions Awards, an international contest aimed at fostering creative and pragmatic solutions within the member countries and partners, has attracted a total of 500 projects this year. The aim is to recognize and honor the most impactful contributions in various domains. 

Submissions have been robust from several participating nations, with Russia presenting 174 projects, Brazil contributing with 159, and China submitting 61. Other participating countries include India with 42 projects, South Africa with 29, followed by the United Arab Emirates with 16, Iran 12, and a smaller number of entries from Iraq, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Turkmenistan, Marocco, the Netherlands, Belarus, Egypt, Kyrgyzstan, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Afghanistan, and Singapore. 

Projects span across multiple categories, covering significant areas such as: 

  • Bioeconomy (40 projects) 
  • Innovative Financing (48 projects) 
  • Food Security (70 projects) 
  • Circular Economy (88 projects) 
  • Energy Transition (98 projects) 
  • Digital Transformation (159 projects). 

The winners of the BRICS Solutions Awards will be announced in July, following regional assessments, during the BRICS Business Forum, held in Rio de Janeiro. This event underscores the significant collaborative spirit and a shared commitment to progress and innovation among BRICS and other participating countries. The Business Forum is sponsored by WEG, Embraer and XCMG and has an institutional partnership with the National Council of Sesi, the Social Service of Brazilian Industry and the OCB (Organization of Brazilian Cooperatives). The BRICS Business Forum and the private sector engagement groups (BRICS Business Council and BRICS Women’s Business Alliance) are coordinated by the Brazilian National Confederation of Industry (CNI).
